Casa Grande Animal Hospital is extending its hours of operation on both Saturdays and Sundays in a move to better serve the Pinal County pet-owning community.
"We are now going to be open all day on Sunday from 8 am until 6:00 pm," said Hospital Manager Mike Falconer. "And Saturday afternoon will be just like a conventional day of the week with multiple doctors handling appointments and walk-ins rather than the urgent care service we have been offering on Saturday afternoons for the last couple of years."
Casa Grande Animal Hospital has been offering an urgent care service from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm during the week and from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Saturdays with a single doctor seeing emergencies and critical cases. The expansion of hours means that more pets can get routine care on the weekend when it is convenient to pet owners.
"Urgent care hours, as the name suggests, are really for emergency cases," said Dr. Kenny Brown, an associate veterinarian at Casa Grande Animal Hospital who works the majority of their urgent care hours. "Our new extended regular hours mean that we can handle those kind of cases and routine care without the potentially extended wait times that sometimes are unavoidable. Saturday is, essentially, just like any other day of the week."
Casa Grande Animal Hospital's new opening hours, which start on October 9th, are now 8:00 am until 9:00 pm Monday through Saturday and 8:00 am through 6:00 pm on Sunday.
