American Cancer Society Relay For Life Kick Off Rally

The American Cancer Society invites anyone who would like to honor cancer survivors (anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer) and caregivers and pay tribute to those who have lost their battle with cancer to join its Relay For Life Kick Off, scheduled for October 5, 2011 at Villago Park Ramada at 6 pm.

The Relay For Life kickoff rally is where families, caregivers, cancer survivors, schools, companies, etc. get together to begin annual Relay For Life activities. Join us for team sign-up, lots of prize give-a-ways, and the festivities will even include a DJ. Get your team of 10-15 people ready and come out to sign up and enjoy the fun! Our area Relay will take place in March 2012.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is an overnight community celebration where individuals and teams camp out, barbecue, dance, and take turns walking around a track relay-style to raise funds while celebrating the lives of those who have had cancer, remembering those lost, and fighting back against a disease that takes too much. At nightfall, participants light hundreds of luminaria around the track in a moving ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lost to the disease. The American Cancer Society Relay For Life represents hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated.
