I came across this joke recently on the internet and thought it was worth passing on.

At one point during a soccer game, the coach said to one of his young players, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative. "Do you understand that what matters is how we play together as a team?"

The little boy nodded yes. "So," the coach continued, "when offsides is called, or a handball is not called, you don't argue or curse or attack the referee. Do you understand all that?"

Again the little boy nodded. "Good," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain it to your mother."

We are currently preparing for our 10th Annual Youth Soccer League. For the second year in a row, we are excited to be playing all of our games at Grande Sports World. This is a beautiful, world-class facility with professional-quality playing fields. Since the end of our season last November, numerous professional and national soccer teams have trained and competed at Grande Sports World. Our organization is very appreciative for the opportunity to play on these same fields. This facility allows us to play more games at one time and it also allows us to play games at night (we hosted the first night games in league history to end the season last year). Our use of this facility is made possible through our partnership with the City of Casa Grande Community Services Department and Grande Sports World - a special thank you to both organizations for their continued support.

Our soccer league has two goals: to offer young people an active, fun sporting activity and to teach them about the game of soccer. Last year, over 725 youth participated in this league on 58 teams. We could not offer this league without the support of the coaches, sponsors, and volunteers. I would like to again thank everyone who falls into one of these categories - especially all of the brave souls who have coached a 5-6 year old team.

Our youth soccer league is open to all youth ages 5-13 (as of September 1, 2011).

The registration fee is $60 (the late registration fee is $70). Registration will take place at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Casa Grande Valley (798 N. Picacho Avenue) on the following dates:

Thursday, August 4 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Saturday, August 6 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

Late Registration
